This manual contains a wealth of information about household recipes and instructions for a wide range of processes, including dyeing, marbling, etching, gilding, gun powder, snuff, etc., It also offers a variety of curious hints and tips, such as how to make trees bear fruit of any colour, how to get a strike at nine-pins, and how to "make one that is very hoarse or speaks inwardly, have a very clear voice."
