Engraved vignette to title, engraved dedicatory arms on verso of title, view of the Escorial (the Spanish Royal family's home), double-hemisphereic celestial map, double-hemispheric world map, 118 numbered maps, and five unnumbered maps, most with early hand-coloring in outline. Many annotated at an early date with degrees of latitude and longitude, and other additions which are detailed on the front free endpaper.

"Pocket" version of Ortelius's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum.
This rare miniature atlas was published by Vrients, who acquired the plates of the Ortelius pocket atlas from Philip Galle between 1598 and 1601 and added the celestial and world maps. Five of the maps relate to America.
