An album of original paintings on silk
[Japan: no date but 1868-1912]. Large quarto. (13 3/16 x 11 5/16 inches). 8 original pen, ink, watercolour and gold leaf paintings on silk (each 10 7/8 x 8 3/4 inches), each on an original cream card mount with random gold leaf decoration, each image flanked at the upper right by a thin strip of mounted decorated paper, each mount edged with gilded cloth. (Slight damage to edging cloth, four mounts with slight damage not affecting the images).
Unbound as issued within original green and silver woven cloth-covered boards, the upper cover with onset rectangular panel of decorated paper, corners with gilded triangular metal guards modelled in semi-relief, pastedowns decorated in gilt and silver (edges slightly damaged, one metal cornerpiece lacking
