A scarce eulogy on the recently-assassinated president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.
The author, George Sewall Boutwell, was governor of Massachusetts, a Congressman from that state, and Secretary of the Treasury under President Grant. Apropos to the present work, just prior to his time in Congress, Boutwell served as the first Commissioner of Internal Revenue under President Lincoln in 1862. Boutwell was also an abolitionist and one of the principal organizers in the formation of the Republican Party. Scarce, one of 1,000 copies printed.
