This popular English devotional was first published anonymously in 1658 and thereafter frequently republished; although variously ascribed, it is generally thought to be by Richard Allestree. "Private devotions for several occasions" has separate title page; register and pagination are continuous. The frontispiece depicts a veiled Moses giving the two tablets at Mt. Sinai, with a quote from 2 Corinthians.
