Goat Island (previously called Iris Island) is a small island in the Niagara River, located in the middle of Niagara Falls between the Bridal Veil Falls and the Horseshoe Falls.
This dramatic view of Horseshoe Falls includes the walkway to Terrapin Rocks and the tower that took sightseers as close to the natural wonder as any cared to go. The 40 foot tower was built in 1833 and survived for about 50 years.
