Originally soft-bound, rebound in green morocco, decorated and tooled in gilt, spine in six compartments, lettered in second, others with gilt decorations.
A splendid study of the late Gothic, Portuguese architectural style known as Manueline, with many pictures, beautifully re-bound in morocco, elaborately tooled in gold.
Reynaldo dos Santos was an accomplished Portuguese physician who also published numerous works on 15th-century Portuguese art. In regard to his art history studies, he was one of the founders of the Portuguese Academy of History in the 1930s, and President of the National Academy of Fine Arts from 1964 to 1967.
