Early American work on agriculture and slavery.
Styled "third edition, revised and enlarged" on the titlepage (after the first edition of 1814), this strongly political and ideological work by the greatest of the agrarian states' rights theorists is devoted to the slavery issue, political and constitutional philosophy, and practical agricultural advice. This edition is the first to contain Taylor's essays on "Cotton," "Hay & Fodder," and "The Present and Political State of Agriculture." This edition also contains Taylor's final revisions to his important "Essays on Agrarian Philosophy."
