A rare history of the Abenaki Native Americans of the Quebec region.

The author succeeded Father P. Béland, as missionary to the Indians of Saint Francis, in 1847, and had resided among them for twenty-five years when this history was published. The most important history of the Abenaki Tribe of Maine and Canada. Gagnon called the work "l'histoire d'une des plus braves tribus sauvages de 1'Amerique du Nord."
