Profusely illustrated edition in a handsome binding, of Blanc's monumental history of the French Revolution, which was originally published in 12 volumes between 1847-1862.
Blanc was a French politician and historian whose political and social ideas contributed greatly to the development of socialism in France. After the Revolution of 1848, Blanc became a member of the provisional government and advocated for the creation of cooperatives to be controlled by workers that would replace capitalist enterprises.
