This series of sporting prints depict the progression of a race horse through successive stages of life: from being pampered and adored as a foal, to rejected and scorned by man. The plates comprise: 1) At First the Foal. 2) And then, the Colt. 3) The Race Horse. 4) The Hunter. 5) The Harness Horse. 6) Post Horse. 7) Last Scene of all.
